The property was a market garden from 1930 to 1999, with several greenhouses and buildings housing a boiler room, packing room and office. The investigation found several pesticides (DDT, endosulfan, carbendazim, dicofol and pentachloroaniline), as well as metals, petroleum hydrocarbons and asbestos. The metals were found in places in the fill, the petroleum hydrocarbons probably came from the boiler room and its heating oil tank, and the asbestos from window putty and fibre cement roof tiles.
