On a site with fairly deep old fill, we pre-classified the soil ahead of remediation and construction of housing. We sampled five points per 20 × 20 m grid square and analysed the samples in 0.5 m intervals. Thanks to the pre-classification, no environmental supervision was needed during the remediation.
